For anyone who is
interested in learning to speak English, or just improve upon your current
language level, we offer a wide variety of
quality one-to-one courses tailored to your specific needs, taught at a pace to
suit you, in a comfortable neutral environment.
No matter who you are or what your level, beginners,
undergraduate students, postgraduate students, business people, travellers or
migrant workers, we can design a course that will suit your needs.
Lessons can be
taught in your home, the tutor’s home or an agreed public location, depending on
your requirements and preferences. We can also provide online lessons if
you are not located in South Wales.
We can teach small groups or one-to-one depending on your
circumstances, if you require a course designed for a group of work colleagues,
or employees, or even if your entire family wishes to learn English, we can
offer this tuition.

Examples of
one-to-one courses that we can offer
English language development: focusing on grammar,
pronunciation, social and conversational English, listening skills, current
affairs and cultural studies
Academic English: focusing on research skills,
reading and vocabulary development, presentation skills, note-taking,
understanding lectures, text analysis, project work, writing skills
IELTS
training: all aspects of the exam - reading,
writing, listening and speaking, supplemented by preliminary testing and
assistance in booking an IELTS test.

Group
courses
From 2008 we will be offering the
following part-time group courses in Barry, South Wales.
General English for Speakers of
Other Languages [ESOL]
This course will follow the DfES
guidelines [see DfES, Adult
ESOL Core Curriculum] and will concentrate on the following areas of
language learning:
Speaking
Listening
Reading
Writing
This course will also provide training
in International English Language Testing System [IELTS] to enable
students to prepare for this internationally recognised examination [see
IELTS - English for International
Opportunity for more information on the examination process].
Students on this course will have the
opportunity to undertake practice IELTS tests and the course will also help
students apply for their actual test in their preferred UK location.
This course will run for 2 hours a week
for 10 weeks.
English as a Second Language [ESL]
Kids
During the 2008 Easter and summer
holidays we will be offering ESL Kids courses. These courses will aim to
develop English language skills in children using fun, interactive methods in a
very lively and imaginative environment. The skills children will develop
in these courses, listening, speaking, reading and writing, will benefit them
both in their social life and at school, lessons will be both educational and
entertaining.
The Easter course will run for a two
week period for three hours a day, two days a week.
The summer course will run for a two
week period for three hours a day, two days a week.
